Avoid parts of Bldg. 962 due to confirmed COVID-19 case at Sandia’s New Mexico site

Sandia’s New Mexico site has a confirmed case of COVID-19. In order to protect the health of the workforce, parts of Bldg. 962, including the basement, elevators and stairs leading to the basement, are closed and being assessed for cleaning and disinfecting. Members of the workforce should avoid the area until further notice. Non-affected areas are open for regular business for those already in the building, but members of the workforce must obey all barricades and safety notices.

Sandia, in coordination with state and federal health officials, is working with the employee to retrace their steps to identify other locations they have visited. All employees with confirmed contact with the individual who tested positive will be contacted by the Sandia Medical Clinic for further instructions within 24 hours.

Employees who have concerns about their health and safety should notify their managers and work with the management team to determine appropriate reporting and time-charging.
